THE BOARD

The Outing Club Board is a team of elected leaders who maintain the structure of the club, dealing with issues both external and internal, and ensuring the club is efficient and supplied adequately with leaders.

PRESIDENT

Lindsey Kutz

The President of Outing Club is the Leader of Leaders. The AOC President ensures the service that is our Outing Club is executed in a way to best benefit both our student participants and our trip leaders. The President is responsible for not only directing the club, but for ensuring the club improves and changes to continue to be one of the best student services on Allegheny's campus. This leader is the face of the club, who has a relationship with Student Government and our campus community. The President must be a strong leader that can provide direction to the rest of our leaders. This student must also be well-rounded, empathetic, knowledgeable in the outdoors, a strong communicator, and an experienced member of the Outing Club.

TREASURER

Rachel Ditzenberger

The Treasurer ensures both that the club has funds and that they're used efficiently. The Treasurer oversees all funds used by the club each week, and reports them once a month at the least, which can change depending on circumstances such as large upcoming trips. They also work alongside the Gear Manager for gear repairs or replacements, writes requests for Student Government Surplus funds, and plans the following year's budget with the President-elect and Treasurer-elect for the following year. This student is intensely involved with the College and Student Government at a level greater than or equal to that of the President. The Treasurer should be diligent, efficient, an exceptional negotiator, and capable of monetary organization as well as cost estimates.

They do two full inventories a semester, coordinates with leaders to provide gear for trips, rents gear out to students, and maintains the quality of the gear. The Gear Manager is proactive in maintenance, knowledgeable in gear or a fast learner, self motivated, organized, and capable to dedicate sufficient time for gear services.

SECRETARY

Julia Sonen

The Outing Club Secretary keeps all our ideas together and grounds us in organization. The Secretary watches over our google drive and email to keep things organized, writes and sends out minutes after every meeting, and keeps track of us as leaders by recording what we've done so far. The Secretary is a leader that is well organized, adequately tech savvy, and a great communicator.

The Public Relations position maintains all social media for the club. They manages the website, Instagram, and Tik Tok account by posting relevant trip information and photos from each trip. The PR position is active in keeping up the club's appearance for all members of the Allegheny community and must be fast learner, knowledgeable in social media, organized and capable of time management.

VICE PRESIDENT

Sydney Thompson

The club's Vice President is both a support for the President and an individually critical force. The VP aids the President in all their duties, but also works to keep the leaders rallied, watching over any rising problems facing the club internally, addressing issues in behavior or attendance for example. The VP is important for directing meetings and ensuring there is communication between all student leaders on club matters. The VP must be ready to fulfill all the roles of the President should they need to step in. The Vice President is a student who is supportive and a good listener, but also tenacious. This student should be strong in leadership, a strong communicator, and experienced in the functions of the club.
